The reasons for gaining weight are very different, each has its own – stress, sedentary lifestyle, genetics, postpartum period, age… The list can go on. Each of these factors requires a different approach. If you are sure that the problem lies only in overeating, and you can not cope with it your own, there is a way out. Try to introduce herbs in your diet, which reduce appetite and quickly, but for a long time satisfy the feeling of hunger. You won’t have to reproach yourself for an extra bun, and the plant origin of the products used will have only a positive impact on the body.
Impact on the body
Recently, herbs of this type have become an excellent alternative to pharmaceutical weight loss products. Some of them achieve results by removing excess fluid (diuretics), others – by actively breaking down fat cells (fat burners), and yet others – by controlling appetite (appetite suppressants). The latter, from the point of view of doctors and nutritionists, are considered the safest for health, as they have a beneficial effect on the gastrointestinal tract. It is customary to classify them as follows.
- Enveloping
Once in the stomach, such grasses envelop its walls with special mucus. For a while, it becomes a protective barrier that repels gastric juice. But gastric juice is what provokes a feeling of hunger. If it is blocked, the signal about the desire to eat will not reach the brain. Accordingly, even if the dinner time comes, you will not eat a large portion. Therefore, you will consume fewer calories. The result is weight loss.
- Expanding
These herbs for appetite suppression are real professional deceivers. Under the influence of liquid, they tend to swell, thereby convincing the body that the stomach is full. Accordingly, it will not be possible to eat a lot. If, after a course of herbal treatment, you adhere to the principles of proper fractional nutrition, the weight will not return. You just get used to eating small portions.
- Reducing acidity
Their action is also associated with blocking gastric juice. However, they differ from the first group in that they do not create a protective barrier in the form of mucous membranes. These herbs act directly on hydrochloric acid, reducing its concentration. No acid – no appetite. However, with prolonged use, such agents can seriously disrupt the gastrointestinal tract.
- Calming
It is no secret that appetite often flares up during emotional distress and stress. To reduce it, you need to calm down. It is not always possible to do this on your own. But herbs with antidepressant action come to the rescue. In medicine, this is called “compulsive overeating”, in everyday life – “psychological hunger”.
- Tonics
Many of us do not perceive these plants as medicinal ones, although they can be found in almost every home. We are used to them as ordinary invigorating drinks. But in fact, they not only add energy, first of all, they reduce appetite. Most types of tea contain substances that contribute to this: caffeine, theobromine, theophylline. We should not forget about their diuretic effect either.
- Hypoglycemic
Herbs that can lower blood sugar primarily affect the body’s metabolic processes. They contain inulin, which most people know as a sugar substitute, a plant polysaccharide. It slows down the absorption of fats and simple carbohydrates by the intestines, and reduces the glycemic index of food. Of course, all this dulls the craving for sweets and appetite.
For weight loss, you can choose herbs from any group, given their effect on the body. All of them are aimed at reducing appetite and satisfying even the most acute feeling of hunger.
Life hack. If you often feel hungry between meals, keep flax seeds soaked in cold water on hand (they envelop the stomach). As soon as you feel like eating, take a small handful and start chewing slowly. You will see – the appetite will decrease in no time.
