- How Not to Harm Your Health
Brewing a cup of aromatic coffee, we often probably think about the pleasure we get from it. Many even equate this addiction to a bad habit. We’ll tell you how to use all its positive qualities to your advantage: to make your figure slimmer, your eyes brighter, and your mood excellent.
Coffee Controversy: What’s True
If something causes mixed opinions (abruptly shifting from negative to delight and admiration), it means that we should look for the golden mean.
Benefits
- Provides a strong energy boost to the body, improves physical and mental performance (caffeine is responsible for this).
- Reduces cholesterol levels, improves microcirculation, and strengthens the vascular wall (vitamins PP, P, and B3, which are formed when the beans are roasted).
- Normalizes the digestive tract (chlorogenic acid and tannins).
- Has an antiseptic effect, which is important for preventing fermentation processes and improving the functioning of normal intestinal microflora (essential oils).
- Improves mood (unique taste and aroma can relieve depression).
Disadvantages
The negative effect is mainly due to caffeine. And here the amount plays a role. If 1-2 cups usually do not have any consequences, 6-7 cups will immediately affect your health:
- Regular consumption creates a psychological dependence.
- Increases heart rate and blood pressure (short-term effect).
- Increases the excretion of minerals (calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium).
- Has a strong diuretic effect (risk of dehydration)
If you think about it, many of the negative effects can be successfully used for weight loss. The main thing is to observe moderation.
Unloading Day Options
Weight loss occurs in several directions at once:
- increased metabolism, including lipolysis (fat breakdown)
- decreased absorption of carbohydrates in the intestines (action of chlorogenic acid)
- decreased appetite
- diuretic effect (getting rid of hidden edema)
- normalization of digestion and intestinal microflora.
It is difficult to imagine a more complex mechanism of losing weight. That is why fasting recipes using coffee are so popular.
On green coffee
It is made from unroasted green beans. What are its benefits for weight loss?
- less caffeine, which appears during roasting, so you can increase the amount of the drink
- more chlorogenic acid – the main fat-burning substance
- decreases insulin levels in the blood, which is important for accelerating metabolic processes (extra pounds go away faster).
It has a peculiar taste: slightly sour and tart, reminiscent of unripe persimmons. You can drink no more than three cups on a fasting day, preferably before meals for additional appetite reduction.
Sample menu
- breakfast: 150 g low-fat cottage cheese
- lunch: salad of tomatoes with herbs
- dinner: apple
The amount of water should not be less than 1.5 liters. It is brewed a little differently. You will need not one teaspoon per cup, but three.
On black coffee
You can consume three to five cups for unloading. Drink it without sugar, but be sure to consume it with a dietary product. Here is a list of those that will not spoil the effect of losing weight:
- low-fat cottage cheese 100-150 g (it also replenishes the loss of calcium)
- vegetables: bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, greens (you can make a salad with the addition of olive oil)
- apples
Let’s not forget – it is better to do without sugar, and additional fluid is a must.
On instant coffee
For many, brewing coffee beans becomes an insurmountable obstacle to such a fasting day. Can they be substituted with an instant version? Yes, especially if it’s green coffee. Then all the beneficial weight loss properties are fully preserved.
Let’s choose a quality product. The main thing is the caffeine content. It is preserved to the maximum in freeze-dried. There is slightly less in granulated. Some cheap brands (mostly powdered drinks) have only surrogate flavorings and aromas and are completely useless.
On coffee with chocolate
This recipe will probably be the most beloved of all. Chocolate is not only a delicious treat, but also a recognized antidepressant (which has been confirmed by scientific research).
Only dark, bitter varieties are suitable for a fasting day. You can eat 100 g per day, dividing it into 5 meals.
Important! Water can be consumed only after three hours after another serving of products.
On coffee with milk
What are the advantages of such a combination? There are many:
- softening of the bitter taste
- calcium enrichment of the menu (this is important for the prevention of osteoporosis with regular use of such fasting days)
- milk protein is used as a building material for all cells of the body, it takes a long time to digest, and brings long-lasting satiety.
Menu: 5 cups at regular intervals. You can add some vegetables and fruits.
On coffee and kefir
This combination is less popular than with milk. But in terms of effectiveness, it is more justified. After all, kefir additionally enhances the diuretic effect, normalizes digestion, and contributes to the growth of microflora. In addition, it is an excellent source of calcium and other trace elements.
Menu: you can drink them separately (the amount of kefir is 1 liter). There is also an original cocktail recipe: for one glass of kefir (250 ml), add 1 teaspoon of ground coffee beans and 1/2 teaspoon of cocoa. This is a protein cocktail option that is good for a morning pick-me-up.
On coffee and water
The effectiveness of this recipe is based on a diuretic effect. It is suitable for people with obesity, which is always accompanied by edema. During the day, you drink up to 5 cups of coffee and 1.5 liters of water. You can eat some cottage cheese (100 g), vegetables, and fruits.
On coffee and tea
The menu includes three cups of natural coffee and three cups of green or herbal tea. No sugar.
They alternate every 2-3 hours. You can eat some vegetables and fruits (except for potatoes, bananas, and grapes). Drink additional water. On such a diet, you will immediately get rid of 2 kg.
