When something causes controversial opinions (a sharp negative is replaced by delight and admiration), it means that it is necessary to seek a “golden mean”. To understand who is recommended or contraindicated to have a fasting day on coffee, it is important to understand the drink’s positive and negative aspects.
Pros
If we discard the emotions of the admirers, there will still be a lot of positive aspects:
- It gives a powerful boost of energy to the body, increases physical and mental abilities (caffeine is responsible for this)
- Lowers cholesterol, improves microcirculation, and strengthens vascular walls (vitamins PP, P, and B3, which are formed during roasting)
- Normalizes the work of the gastrointestinal tract (chlorogenic acid and tannins)
- Antiseptic effect, which is important for preventing fermentation and activating the normal intestinal microflora (essential oils)
- Improves mood (a unique taste and aroma that can alleviate depression)
Cons
The negative impact is primarily due to caffeine. The amount here is important. If 1-2 cups usually do not lead to any consequences, then 6-7 immediately harm your health:

Options for fasting day
Weight loss occurs simultaneously in several directions:
- accelerating metabolism, including lipolysis (fat breakdown)
- decreasing the absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine (the work of chlorogenic acid)

- diuretic effect (getting rid of hidden edema)

We choose a quality product. The main thing is the caffeine content. It is best preserved by freeze drying. It is slightly smaller in granulated coffee. Some cheap brands (mostly powdered drinks) contain only surrogate flavor and odor substitutes and are completely useless.
