When something causes conflicting opinions (sharp negativity is replaced by delight and admiration), it means that one must seek a happy medium. In order to understand for whom a coffee fasting day is ideal and for whom it is contraindicated, it is important to clearly understand the positive and negative sides of the drink.

Pros

If you ignore the emotions of the fans, there will be many positive aspects:

  1. Gives the body a powerful boost of energy, improves physical and mental performance (caffeine is responsible for this).
  2. Lowers cholesterol levels, improves microcirculation, and strengthens vascular walls (vitamins PP, P and B3, which are formed when the beans are roasted).
  3. Normalizes the gastrointestinal tract (chlorogenic acid and tannins).
  4. Has an antiseptic effect, which is important for preventing fermentation and improving the activity of the beneficial microflora of the intestine (essential oils).
  5. Improves mood (unique taste and aroma that can relieve depression).

Cons

The negative effects are primarily due to caffeine. Moreover, quantity matters here. While 1-2 cups usually have no consequences, 6-7 will immediately affect your health:

  1. Regular consumption forms psychological dependence.
  2. Increases heart rate and blood pressure (short-term effect).
  3. Increases the excretion of minerals (calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium).
  4. Has a strong diuretic effect (risk of dehydration).

If you think about it, many negative effects can be successfully used for weight loss. The main thing is to stick to moderation. A properly organized coffee fasting day can shed up to 1 kg of excess weight. In a month, this is already 3-4 kg, and you do not need to exhaust yourself with prolonged starvation. It is enough to enjoy the exquisite taste and aroma once a week combined with certain dietary products.

Coffee Fasting Options

Weight loss is achieved in several directions at once:

  • acceleration of metabolism, including lipolysis (fat breakdown);
  • decreased carbohydrate absorption in the intestine (chlorogenic acid at work);
  • decreased appetite;
  • diuretic effect (getting rid of latent edema);
  • normalization of digestion and intestinal microflora.

It is difficult to imagine a more complex mechanism of weight loss. That is why coffee fasting recipes are so popular.

On green coffee

Prepared from unprocessed green fruits. What are its benefits for weight loss?

  • Less caffeine, which appears during roasting, therefore the amount of the beverage you drink can be increased;
  • More chlorogenic acid – a basic fat-burning substance;
  • Reduces insulin levels in the blood, which is important for accelerating metabolic processes (kilos go away faster).

It tastes peculiar. It has a green-tart aftertaste, similar to green persimmon. On a fasting day, you can drink no more than three such cups, preferably before meals to further reduce appetite.

Sample menu:

  • Breakfast: 150 g low-fat cottage cheese;
  • Lunch: salad of tomatoes with herbs;
  • Dinner: one apple.

The amount of water should be at least 1.5 liters. It is also brewed a little differently. One cup requires three teaspoons instead of one.

On black coffee

From three to five cups may be used for fasting. They drink without sugar, but always with some dietary product. Here is a list of what will not spoil the effect of losing weight:

  • 100-150 g non-fat cottage cheese (as an added bonus, it replenishes lost calcium);
  • Vegetables: bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs (you can make a salad with the addition of olive oil);
  • apples.

Do not forget – it is better to do without sugar, but additional fluid is simply necessary.

On instant coffee

For many, the process of brewing ground beans becomes an insurmountable obstacle on the path to such a fasting day. Can they be replaced with an instant version? Yes, especially if it is green coffee. Then all the beneficial properties for weight loss are fully preserved.

We choose a high-quality product. The main thing is the caffeine content. It is best preserved in freeze-dried form. There is slightly less of it in the granulated form. Some cheap brands (most powdered beverages) contain only surrogate substitutes for taste and smell and are completely useless.

On coffee with chocolate

Perhaps this recipe will be the most popular of all. Chocolate is not only a delicious treat, but also a recognized antidepressant (as confirmed by scientific studies).

For a fasting day, only black, bitter varieties are suitable. You can consume 100 g per day, divided into 5 portions. We supplement such a “feast” with a cup of aromatic coffee, of course without sugar.

Important! You can drink water only three hours after your next meal.

On coffee with milk

What are the benefits of such a combination? There are a lot of them:

  • Softening of the bitter taste;
  • Enriching the menu with calcium (with regular use of such fasting days, this is important for the prevention of osteoporosis);
  • Milk protein is used as a building block by all cells in the body, it is digested for a long time, which leads to a longer feeling of fullness.

Menu: 5 cups at regular intervals. You can add some vegetables and fruits.

On coffee and kefir

The combination is less common than with milk. But in terms of effectiveness, it is more justified. After all, kefir also enhances the diuretic effect, normalizes digestion, and aids in the growth of microflora. In addition, it is an excellent source of calcium and other trace elements.

Menu: you can drink the beverages separately (the volume of kefir is 1 liter). There is also an original cocktail recipe: 1 teaspoon of ground beans and 1/2 tablespoon of cocoa are added to a glass of kefir (250 ml). This is a variation of a protein shake that is especially good for waking up in the morning.

On coffee and water

The effectiveness of such a recipe is based on the diuretic effect. Suitable for people with obesity, which is always accompanied by edema. During the day, they drink up to 5 cups of coffee and 1.5 liters of water. You can afford some cottage cheese (100 g), vegetables and fruits.

On coffee and tea
