How often do we think that we are simply indulging ourselves when we pour ourselves a cup of fragrant coffee. In general, many people consider its use as a bad habit. We will tell you how to use all its pros in your favor: to make your figure slimmer, your eyes more sparkling, and your mood better.
The debate about coffee: the truth
When something causes such polar opinions (acute hostility is replaced by delight and admiration), there must be a middle ground. To understand who a fasting day will be perfect for, and who it is contraindicated for, it is important to clearly understand the positive and negative aspects of this drink.
Positive aspects
If we leave out the emotions of fans, there are indeed many positive aspects:
- It gives the body a powerful energy boost, helps to increase physical and mental performance (caffeine is responsible for this).
- Lowers cholesterol levels, improves microcirculation, and strengthens the vascular walls (vitamins PP, P, and B3 are formed during roasting of grains).
- Normalizes the gastrointestinal tract (chlorogenic acid and tannins).
- Antiseptic action, which is important for preventing fermentation processes and improving the activity of the normal intestinal microflora (essential oils).
- Improves mood (a unique taste and aroma that can relieve depression).
Negative aspects
The negative impact is mainly caused by caffeine. And the amount is important here. If 1-2 cups usually do not lead to any consequences, 6-7 cups have an immediate impact on health:
- Regular consumption forms a psychological addiction.
- Increases heart rate, blood pressure (short-term impact).
- Increases the excretion of minerals (calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium).
- Pronounced diuretic effect (risk of dehydration).
If you think about it, many negative effects can be successfully used for weight loss. The main thing is to observe moderation. A properly organized fasting day on coffee will help you to get rid of up to 1 kg of excess weight. This means 3-4 kg per month, and you do not have to exhaust yourself with prolonged starvation. It is enough to enjoy the exquisite taste and aroma with some dietary products once a week.
Diet day options
There are several ways to lose weight here:
- accelerated metabolism, including lipolysis (destruction of fats);
- reduced absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine (action of chlorogenic acid);
- reduced appetite;
- diuretic effect (getting rid of latent edema);
- normalization of digestion and intestinal microflora.
A more comprehensive mechanism for weight loss is hard to imagine. That is why coffee fasting diets are so popular.
On green coffee
It is prepared from unroasted green beans. How is it useful for weight loss?
- Less caffeine, which appears during roasting, so the amount of drink you drink can be increased;
- More chlorogenic acid, which is the main fat burner;
- Lowers insulin levels in the blood, which is important for accelerating metabolic processes (extra pounds go away faster).
The taste is peculiar. Greenish-tart aftertaste, reminiscent of the taste of unripe persimmons. You can drink no more than three cups on a fasting day, and preferably before meals, this will further reduce your appetite.
Sample menu:
- Breakfast: 150 g of low-fat cottage cheese;
- Lunch: salad with tomatoes and herbs;
- Dinner: apple.
The amount of water should be at least 1.5 liters. It is also brewed a little differently. For one mug, you need not one teaspoon, but three.
On black coffee

On instant coffee
For many people, the process of brewing ground beans becomes an insurmountable obstacle to such a fasting day. Can you replace them with an instant version? Yes, especially if it is green coffee. It retains all the beneficial properties for weight loss.
We choose a quality product. The main thing here is the caffeine content. It is maximally preserved in the sublimated version. The granular version contains a little less of it. Some cheap brands (powdered drinks, in essence) contain only surrogate taste and smell and provide no benefit at all.
On coffee with chocolate
This recipe is perhaps the most popular. Chocolate is not only a delicious treat, but also a well-known antidepressant (this has been proven by scientific studies).
For a fasting day, only black bitter varieties will do. You can eat about 100 g per day, dividing it into 5 servings. Of course, we supplement such a “feast” with a cup of fragrant coffee, without sugar, of course.
