A festive table cannot do without kiwi: fruit salads, cocktails, berry pie. But we are interested in its benefits for weight loss. Nutritionists have long included the “Chinese gooseberry”, as it is also called, in the list of “correct” products. We will tell you about a fasting day on it.

Benefits

This berry is originally from China. The wild ancestor of modern plants was brought to New Zealand, where after selection, it acquired the taste and appearance that is known to millions of fans today. The fruits are valued for their unusual taste: a mixture of gooseberry, banana, melon, strawberry, apple and pineapple. Their benefit lies in their unique composition and calorie content.

Low calorie content

100 g contains only 50 kcal. Such calorie content is equated to zero. All energy is spent on the digestion process itself. Therefore, kiwi can be eaten in unlimited quantities without worrying about weight. For a fasting day, 1 kg is usually recommended. This is 500 kcal.

Biologically active substances

Contains a unique enzyme actinidin, which is similar in properties to digestive enzymes. It breaks down proteins and speeds up metabolism. Body fat is used up faster, and kilograms go away. Kiwi is very good to be consumed with meat and other “heavy” dishes.

Dietary fiber

They are practically not digested. Passing through the intestines, they “hook” all the toxins that accumulate there due to improper diet. When losing weight, the amount of such harmful substances increases. After their elimination, food breakdown improves, toxic effects are eliminated, and heaviness in the abdomen disappears.

Everyone knows about the benefits of vitamins and minerals. Let’s tell you how kiwi stands out from the general range of fruits and berries:

  • A huge amount of vitamin C. 100 g contains the daily norm. This is more than all citrus fruits and bell peppers. It is not directly related to losing weight, but such a “bonus” is very useful for the immune system.
  • Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant that slows down the aging process and prevents the formation of atypical tumor cells. Contained in high-calorie foods – eggs, nuts, fatty fish. People who watch their figure usually do not use such a menu, which leads to a deficiency of vitamin E. Kiwi can solve this problem.
  • Nicotinic acid (PP) reduces the level of triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood. For those who suffer from severe forms of obesity, this is vital (prevention of heart attack, stroke, diabetes).
  • Of the trace elements, iodine is especially important for those who are losing weight. It is necessary for the thyroid gland, without the normal functioning of which it is impossible to control weight.

The composition is also rich in vitamins A, B group (B1, B6, B12, B5), calcium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus. Such diversity in combination with low calorie content guarantees excellent results in losing weight without harm to health. But the lack of nutrients is the main reason why nutritionists do not welcome hobbies for diets.

Preparation

In order to get the maximum effect (you can lose up to 1.5 kg of weight per day), proper preparation is important:

  1. On the eve, we stop eating fatty and “harmful” food (we exclude products with dyes, preservatives, fried, smoked dishes).
  2. The last meal is no later than 18:00, it is better if it is just a glass of kefir.
  3. In advance, we prepare 2 liters of non-carbonated mineral water and 1 kg of kiwi.

How to choose a quality product?

Surely, each of us at least once in our life bought green fruits. What a disappointment it is when instead of a tasty sweet treat, you get something that immediately goes to the trash? In order not to be mistaken anymore, remember the simple rules:

  • In terms of consistency, we choose the golden mean: too hard are green, but very soft, most likely, overripe or even spoiled.
  • By color: we look for an even greenish-protective color and a slight fluff. If there are dark spots or uneven “hair”, it is better not to take such spots.
  • By smell: fresh fruits do not smell. During prolonged storage, a “wine smell” appears – this is a sign of spoilage.
  • A special place is where the stalk was attached. If a drop of juice appears after pressing, the storage was incorrect.
  • Additional plaque: it should not be there! This is a sign of mold.

And finally, it is better to buy fruits not in ready-made packaging, but by weight. It is not for nothing that they cost a little more. By doing this, sellers confirm that it is easier to hide damaged products in finished packages.

Variations

Option 1. Basic

A classic fasting day on kiwi involves the following menu:

  1. Kiwi – 1 kg.
  2. Skinless chicken breast – 1 pc.
  3. Still water and green tea – 2 liters.

It is better to cook meat on the same day in the morning. We divide the products into 6 equal parts. It turns out a meal every 2 hours. In between, we drink water and tea without sugar.

Why chicken breast?

  • This is almost pure protein, which will definitely not be deposited as fat.
  • Protein takes longer to digest and causes a prolonged feeling of fullness.
  • It is also an excellent building material for muscle tissue. If you arrange such days regularly and combine them with physical exercises, you can lose 4-6 kg per month and make your figure slim and fit.

How often can you do unloading? Usually, nutritionists recommend once a week. If more often, then this is already stress, which can end with a “breakdown” and weight gain.

Option 2. On kiwi and kefir

Kefir is added to the menu as an alternative to meat.

  • It contains the same amount of protein.
  • It normalizes the functioning of the intestines, improves the composition of beneficial microflora.
  • It has a pronounced diuretic effect, increasing the loss of kilograms.

It is recommended to drink up to 1 liter of kefir during the day. Part of it can be mixed with chopped fruits and made into a cocktail. Result – minus 1 kg of weight per day.

Option 3. On kiwi and apples

This recipe is suitable for those who like to diversify their diet. Apples can be eaten not only raw, but also baked (of course without sugar). They have more carbohydrates, which is an additional plus for those with a sweet tooth.

Recipe: products in equal quantities (0.5 kg each, you can take a little more) are combined in any way. The main thing is to eat 5-6 times a day and drink plenty of water or green tea without sugar.

Option 4. On kiwi and cucumbers

Cucumber unloading is very effective in itself. After all, in terms of calorie content, these vegetables have no equal (in 100 g, only 14 kcal). They consist of water (95%) and fiber, which is important for cleansing the intestines from toxins. We do not worry about the quantity. Usually they take 1 kg in equal parts, but if desired, you can take more.
