No festive table is complete without kiwi: in fruit salads, cocktails, and berry tarts. But we are interested in its benefits for losing weight. Nutritionists have long included “Chinese gooseberries,” as they are also called, in the list of “right” foods. We will describe its fasting day.
Benefits
The homeland of this berry is China. The wild ancestor of modern plants was brought to New Zealand, where, after selection, it acquired the taste and appearance that millions of fans know today. The fruit is valued for its unusual taste: its mixture of gooseberry, banana, melon, strawberry, apple, and pineapple. Their benefit lies in their unique composition and calorie content.
Low calorie content
There are only 50 kcal per 100 g. Such calorie content is equivalent to zero. All energy is spent on the digestion process itself. Therefore, kiwi can be eaten in unlimited quantities without fear for your figure. For a fasting day, 1 kg is usually recommended. This is 500 kcal.
Biologically active substances
Contains the unique enzyme actinidin, which is similar in properties to digestive enzymes. It breaks down proteins and speeds up metabolism. Fat deposits are consumed faster, and kilograms go away. Kiwi is very good to eat with meat and other “heavy” dishes.

Practically not digested. Passing through the intestines, it “clings” to all harmful substances that accumulate there due to improper nutrition. - Vitamin E — a natural antioxidant that slows down the aging process and prevents the formation of atypical tumor cells. It is found in high-calorie foods — eggs, nuts, fatty fish. Such a variety, combined with low calorie content, guarantees excellent results in weight loss without harm to health. Preparation
Proper preparation is important to get the maximum effect (you can lose up to 1.5 kg of weight per day):
- The day before, we stop eating fatty and “harmful” foods (exclude foods with dyes, preservatives, fried, smoked dishes).
- The last meal should be no later than 6 pm, preferably just a glass of kefir.
- Prepare 2 liters of still mineral water and 1 kg of kiwi in advance.
How to choose a quality product?
Surely, each of us has bought unripe fruit at least once in our lives. How disappointing it is when, instead of a delicious sweet delicacy, you get something that immediately ends up in the trash? In order not to make this mistake again, remember these simple rules:
- Choose the golden mean in density: too hard is unripe, but very soft is most likely overripe or even spoiled.
- Look for an even greenish-protective color and a little bit of fuzz. If there are dark spots or uneven “hair,” it is better to refuse such a fruit.
- By smell: fresh fruit does not smell. During long storage, a “winey smell” appears — this is a sign of spoilage.
- Pay special attention to the place where the stalk was attached. If a drop of juice appears after pressing, then the storage was incorrect.
- Extraneous plaque: it should not be! This is a sign of mold.
And finally, it is better to buy fruit not in a ready-made package, but by weight. No wonder such fruits are slightly more expensive. By doing this, sellers confirm that it is easier to hide spoiled goods in ready-made packaging.

Option 1. Basic
The classic kiwi fasting day involves the following menu:
- Kiwi — 1 kg.
- Chicken breast without skin — 1 pc.
- Water without gas and green tea — 2 liters.
It is better to boil the meat that same day in the morning. Divide the products into 6 equal parts. It turns out that you eat every 2 hours. In between, drink water and tea without sugar.
Why chicken breast?
- It is almost pure protein, which is guaranteed not to be deposited as fat.
- Protein takes longer to digest and causes a prolonged feeling of fullness.
- It is also an excellent building material for muscle tissue. If you arrange such fasting days regularly and combine them with physical exercises, then in a month you can lose 4-6 kg and make your figure slim and fit.
How often can you do the unloading? Usually, nutritionists recommend once a week. If more often, then this is stress, which can end in a breakdown and weight gain.
Option 2. With kiwi and kefir
Kefir is added to the menu as an alternative to meat.
