Kiwi is a must-have for any celebration: fruit salads, cocktails, and berry pies. But we are interested in its benefits for weight loss. Nutritionists have long included the “Chinese gooseberry,” as it is also called, in the list of “good” products. We’ll talk about a fasting day with it.

Benefits

This berry is native to China. The wild predecessor of modern plants was brought to New Zealand, where, having undergone selection, it acquired the taste and appearance known today to millions of its fans. The fruits are valued for their unusual taste, a mixture of gooseberry, banana, melon, strawberry, apple, and pineapple. Their benefits are in their unique composition and calorie content.

Low calorie content

There are only 50 kcal per 100 g. This calorie content is equated to zero. All energy is spent on the digestion process itself. Therefore, kiwi can be eaten in unlimited quantities without worrying about your weight. For a fasting day, 1 kg is usually recommended. This is 500 kcal.

Biologically active substances

Contains the unique enzyme actinidin, which is similar in properties to digestive enzymes. It breaks down proteins and speeds up metabolism. Fat stores are used up faster, and kilograms go away. Kiwi is very good with meat and other “heavy” dishes.

Dietary fiber

They are practically indigestible. Passing through the intestines, they “hook” all the toxins that accumulate in it due to improper nutrition. The amount of such harmful substances increases when you lose weight. After their removal, digestion improves, the toxic effect is eliminated, and the heaviness in the abdomen disappears.

Biochemical treasure trove

Everyone knows about the benefits of vitamins and minerals. But what distinguishes kiwi from the general range of fruits and berries:

  • A huge amount of vitamin C. There is a daily requirement in 100 g. This is more than all citrus fruits and bell peppers. It is not directly related to weight loss, but such a “bonus” is very useful for immunity.
  • Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant that slows down the aging process and inhibits the formation of atypical tumor cells. It is found in high-calorie foods — eggs, nuts, fatty fish. People who watch their weight usually do not use such a menu, which leads to a deficiency of vitamin E. Kiwi can solve this problem.
  • Nicotinic acid (PP) lowers triglycerides and cholesterol levels in the blood. For those who suffer from severe forms of obesity, this is of vital importance (prevention of heart attack, stroke, diabetes).
  • Of the trace elements for those who are losing weight, iodine is especially important. It is needed by the thyroid gland, without the normal function of which weight control is impossible.

The composition is also rich in vitamins A, group B (B1, B6, B12, B5), calcium, potassium, magnesium, and phosphorus. Such a variety, combined with low calorie content, guarantees excellent results in losing weight without harm to health. But a lack of nutrients is the main reason why nutritionists do not welcome a passion for diets.

Preparation

For maximum effect (you can lose up to 1.5 kg of weight per day), proper preparation is important:

  1. On the day before, stop eating fatty and “unhealthy” foods (foods with dyes, preservatives, fried, and smoked foods are excluded).
  2. The last meal should be no later than 6:00 pm, it is better if it is just a glass of kefir.
  3. Prepare 2 liters of still mineral water and 1 kg of kiwi in advance.

How to choose a quality product?

Surely, each of us has bought green fruits at least once in our life. What a disappointment when, instead of a tasty sweet treat, you get something that goes straight to the trash can? To avoid making mistakes, remember these simple rules:

  • Choose the golden mean by consistency: too hard means green, but very soft ones are most likely overripe or even spoiled.
  • By color: look for an even greenish-protective color and a little fluff. If there are dark spots or uneven “hairiness,” it is better not to take such.
  • By smell: fresh fruits do not smell. During prolonged storage, a “winey aroma” appears — this is a sign of spoilage.
  • A special place — where the stalk was attached. If a drop of juice appears after pressing, the storage was incorrect.
  • Additional plaque: it should not be there! This is a sign of mold.

Finally, it is better to buy fruits not in ready-made packaging, but by weight. It is not for nothing that they are slightly more expensive. In this way, sellers confirm that it is easier to hide spoiled products in finished packages.

Types

Option 1. Basic

The classic kiwi fasting day includes the following menu:

  1. Kiwi – 1 kg.
  2. Skinless chicken breast – 1 pc.
  3. Water without gas and green tea – 2 liters.

It is better to boil the meat in the morning on the same day. We divide the products into 6 equal parts. It turns out to be a meal every 2 hours. In between, we drink water and tea without sugar.

Why chicken breast?

  • This is almost pure protein, which is guaranteed not to be deposited as fat.
  • Protein is digested longer and causes a prolonged feeling of fullness.
  • It is also an excellent building material for muscle tissue. If you organize such days regularly and combine them with physical exercises, you can lose 4-6 kg in a month and make your figure slim and fit.

How often can unloading be done? Usually, nutritionists recommend once a week. If more often, then this is already stress, which can lead to a “breakdown” and weight gain.

Option 2. On kiwi and kefir

Kefir is added to the menu as an alternative to meat.

  • It contains just as much protein.
  • It normalizes the work of the intestines, improves the composition of beneficial microflora.
  • It has a pronounced diuretic effect, increasing the loss of kilograms.

It is recommended to drink up to 1 liter of kefir during the day. Some of it can be mixed with chopped fruits to make a cocktail. The result is minus 1 kg of weight per day.

Option 3. On kiwi and apples

This recipe is suitable for those who like to diversify their diet. Apples can not only be eaten raw, but also baked (of course without sugar). They are higher in carbohydrates, which is an additional plus for those with a sweet tooth.

Recipe: Combine products in equal quantities (0.5 kg each, you can have a little more) in any way you like. The main thing is to eat 5-6 times a day and drink plenty of water or green tea without sugar.

Option 4. On kiwi and cucumbers

Cucumber fasting is highly effective on its own. After all, in terms of calorie content, these vegetables have no equal (only 14 kcal per 100 g). They consist of water (95%) and fiber, which helps cleanse the intestines and get rid of excess weight.
