No holiday table can do without kiwi: fruit salads, cocktails, berry cakes… But we are interested in its benefits for weight loss. Nutritionists included the “Chinese gooseberry”, as it is also called, in the list of “correct” products a long time ago. We will tell you about a fasting day on it.

Benefits

This berry originates from China. The wild predecessor of modern plants was brought to New Zealand, where, after selection, it acquired the taste and appearance that is known to millions of fans today. The fruits are appreciated for their unusual taste: a mix of gooseberry, banana, melon, strawberry, apple, and pineapple. They are useful due to their unique composition and calorie content.

Low calorie content

100 g contains only 50 kcal. Such calorie content is considered zero. All the energy is spent on the digestion process itself. Therefore, you can eat kiwi in unlimited quantities without worrying about your weight. For a fasting day, 1 kg is usually recommended. This makes up 500 kcal.

Biologically active substances

It contains a unique enzyme, actinidin, which is similar in properties to digestive enzymes. It breaks down proteins and speeds up metabolism. Fat deposits are consumed faster, and kilograms go away. It is very good to eat kiwi with meat and other “heavy” dishes.

Dietary fiber

It is practically not digested. Passing through the intestines, it “hooks” all the toxins that accumulate there due to improper nutrition. When losing weight, the amount of such harmful substances increases. After eliminating them, the process of breaking down food improves, the toxic effect is eliminated, and the heaviness in the stomach disappears.

Biochemichal treasure

Everybody knows about the benefits of vitamins and minerals. Let’s talk about what distinguishes kiwi from the general range of fruits and berries:

  • A huge amount of vitamin C. 100 g contains the daily requirement. This is more than in all citrus fruits and bell peppers. This is not directly related to weight loss, but such a “bonus” is very useful for immunity.
  • Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant that slows down the aging process and prevents the formation of atypical tumor cells. It is found in high-calorie products such as eggs, nuts, and fatty fish. People who watch their figure usually do not eat such foods, which leads to a vitamin E deficiency. Kiwi can solve this problem.
  • Nicotinic acid (PP) reduces the level of triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood. For those who suffer from severe forms of obesity, this is vital (prevention of heart attack, stroke, and diabetes).
  • Among microelements, iodine is especially important for those losing weight. It is necessary for the thyroid gland, without the normal functioning of which weight control is impossible.

The composition is also rich in vitamins A, group B (B1, B6, B12, B5), calcium, potassium, magnesium, and phosphorus. Such a variety, combined with low calorie content, guarantees excellent results in losing weight without harming your health. A lack of nutrients is the main reason nutritionists do not welcome the fascination with diets.

Preparation

In order to get the maximum effect (you can lose up to 1.5 kg in weight per day), proper preparation is important:

  1. The day before, we stop eating fatty and “harmful” foods (we exclude products with dyes, preservatives, fried, and smoked dishes).
  2. The last meal is no later than 18:00, and it is better if it is just a glass of kefir.
  3. We prepare 2 liters of non-carbonated mineral water and 1 kg of kiwi in advance.

How to choose a quality product?

Probably each of us has bought green fruits at least once in our life. What a disappointment it is when instead of a tasty sweet treat you get something that immediately goes into the trash? In order not to be mistaken anymore, remember the simple rules:

  • By consistency, we choose the golden mean: too hard is unripe, but very soft is most likely overripe or even spoiled.
  • By color: we look for an even greenish-protective color and a small fluff. If there are dark spots or uneven “hair”, it is better not to take it.
  • By smell: fresh fruits do not smell. During long storage, a “vine note” appears — this is a sign of spoilage.
  • A special place is where the stalk was attached. If a drop of juice appears after pressing, the storage was improper.
  • Additional coating: it should not be! This is a sign of mold.

And finally, it is better to buy fruits not in ready-made packaging, but by weight. It is not for nothing that they cost a little more. By doing so, sellers confirm that it is easier to hide substandard products in ready-made packaging.

Options

Option 1. Basic

The classic fasting day with kiwi involves the following menu:

  1. Kiwi — 1 kg.
  2. Skinless chicken breast — 1 pc.
  3. Non-carbonated water and green tea — 2 liters.

It is better to boil the meat in the morning on the same day. We divide the products into 6 equal parts. You end up eating every 2 hours. In between, we drink water and tea without sugar.

Why chicken breast?

  • It is practically pure protein, which is guaranteed not to be deposited as fat.
  • Protein takes longer to digest and causes a long-lasting feeling of fullness.
  • It is also an excellent building material for muscle tissue. If you arrange such fasting days regularly and combine them with physical exercises, you can lose 4–6 kg in a month and make your body slim and fit.

How often can you do such fasting days? Usually, nutritionists recommend once a week. If more often, then this is already stress, which can end in a “breakdown” and weight gain.

Option 2. With kiwi and kefir

Kefir is added to the menu as an alternative to meat.

  • It contains the same amount of protein.
  • It normalizes the functioning of the intestines, improves the composition of beneficial microflora.
  • It has a pronounced diuretic effect, increasing weight loss.

It is recommended to drink up to 1 liter of kefir during the day. Some of it can be mixed with chopped fruit and made into a cocktail. The result is minus 1 kg of weight per day.

Option 3. With kiwi and apples

This recipe is suitable for those who like to diversify their diet. Apples can be eaten not only raw, but also baked (of course without sugar). To do this, 1 kg of apples must be cut into pieces, sprinkle with cinnamon, and cook in the oven or microwave for 15 minutes at a temperature of 180–200 degrees.

Kiwi with apples can be alternated during the day. You can also mix them together. The total amount of food is 1 kg.

Option 4. With kiwi and vegetables

If you want to cleanse the body, then kiwi with vegetables will be a great option. A mixture of carrots, cucumber, and beets has a powerful cleansing effect. Grind 350 g of each vegetable with a grater or in a blender. Mix with chopped kiwi (500 g). You should get about 1.2 kg of mixture. During the day, it should be eaten in 5-6 equal portions.
