Nutritionists have long included the “Chinese gooseberry,” as it is also called, on the list of the “healthiest” foods. We will tell you about the fasting day.

Benefits

The homeland of this berry is China. The wild ancestor of modern plants was brought to New Zealand, where, as a result of selection, it acquired the taste and appearance familiar to millions of fans. The fruit is valued for its unusual flavor profile: a mixture of gooseberry, banana, melon, strawberry, apple, and pineapple. Their health benefits are due to their unique composition and calorie content.

Low calorie content

100 g contains only 50 kcal. This calorie content is considered zero. All energy is spent on the digestion process itself. Therefore, you can eat kiwis in unlimited quantities without worrying about gaining weight. 1 kg is usually recommended for a fasting day. That’s 500 kcal.

Biologically active substances

Contains a unique enzyme called actinidin, which is similar in properties to digestive enzymes. It breaks down proteins and speeds up metabolism. The fat reserves are more active, and the kilograms go away. It is very useful to eat kiwi with meat and other “heavy” foods.

Dietary fiber

It is practically not digested. Passing through the intestines, it “picks up” all the toxins that accumulate there as a result of improper nutrition. The amount of such harmful substances increases as you lose weight. After their elimination, digestion improves, their toxic effect is eliminated, and the heaviness in the stomach disappears.

Everyone knows about the benefits of vitamins and minerals. Here is what makes kiwi special in the general series of fruits and berries:

  • A huge amount of vitamin C. 100 g contains its daily norm. This is more than in all citrus fruits and peppers. It is not directly related to weight loss, but this “bonus” is very useful for immunity.
  • Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant that slows down the aging process and prevents the formation of atypical tumor cells. It is found in high-calorie foods — eggs, nuts, fatty fish. People who monitor their figure usually do not have such a menu, which leads to a deficiency of vitamin E. Kiwi can solve this problem.
  • Nicotinic acid (PP) lowers blood triglycerides and cholesterol levels. For those suffering from severe forms of obesity, this is vital (prevention of heart attack, stroke, diabetes).
  • Trace elements, iodine is especially important for losing weight. It is necessary for the thyroid gland, without which normal weight control is impossible.

The composition is also rich in vitamins A, group B (B1, B6, B12, B5), calcium, potassium, magnesium, and phosphorus. Such a variety, combined with low calorie content, guarantees excellent weight loss results without harm to health. After all, the lack of nutrients is the main reason why nutritionists do not welcome the passion for diets.

Preparation

In order to get the maximum effect (you can lose up to 1.5 kg of weight per day), the correct preparation is very important:

  1. On the eve, we stop consuming fatty and “harmful” foods (we exclude foods with dyes, preservatives, fried and smoked dishes).
  2. The last meal should be no later than 18:00, preferably just a glass of kefir.
  3. Prepare 2 liters of still mineral water and 1 kg of kiwi in advance.

How to choose a quality product?

Surely, each of us has at least once in our lives purchased unripe fruits. How disappointing it is when instead of a tasty, sweet treat, you get something that goes straight into the trash? In order not to make a mistake in the future, remember the simple rules:

  • Choose the golden mean in consistency: too hard is unripe, and too soft is most likely overripe or even spoiled.
  • In color: look for an even greenish-protective color and a slight fuzz. If there are dark spots or uneven “hair”, it is better not to take them.
  • By smell: fresh fruit does not smell. During long storage, a “winey smell” appears — this is a sign of spoilage.
  • Pay special attention to the place where the stem was attached. If a drop of juice appears after pressing, it was stored incorrectly.
  • Foreign raid: it shouldn’t be! This is already a sign of mold.

Finally, it is better to buy fruits not in ready-made packaging, but by weight. No wonder they cost a little more. Thus, sellers confirm that it is easier to hide spoiled products in ready-made packaging.

Option 1. Basic

A classic kiwi fasting day involves the following menu:

  1. Kiwi — 1 kg.
  2. Chicken breast without skin and bones – 1 pc.
  3. Still water and green tea — 2 liters.

It is better to boil the meat in the morning on the same day. We divide the products into 6 equal parts. It turns out one meal every 2 hours. In between, we drink water and tea without sugar.

Why chicken breast?

  • This is almost pure protein, which is guaranteed not to be stored as fat.
  • The protein is digested longer, which causes a long feeling of fullness.
  • It is also an excellent building material for muscle tissue. If such days are arranged regularly and combined with exercise, in a month you can lose 4-6 kg and make your figure slim and fit.

How often can you unload? Usually, nutritionists recommend once a week. If more often, then this is already stress, which can result in a “breakdown” and weight gain.

Option 2. On kiwi and kefir

Kefir is added to the menu as an alternative to meat.

  • It contains the same amount of protein.
  • It normalizes bowel function, improves the composition of beneficial microflora.
  • It has a pronounced diuretic effect, contributing to weight loss.

It is recommended to drink up to 1 liter of kefir per day. You can mix some of it with chopped fruit and make a cocktail. The result is minus 1 kg of weight per day.

Option 3. On kiwi and apples

This recipe is suitable for those who like to diversify their diet. Apples can be eaten raw, not only baked (of course, without sugar). They contain more carbohydrates, which is a plus for those with a sweet tooth.

Recipe: mix equal amounts of products (0.5 kg each, maybe a little more) in any way. The main thing is to eat 5-6 times a day and drink plenty of water or green tea without sugar.
