Shilajit (mineral pitch) is a natural product mined in high mountain cliffs. It is a malleable, dark-colored mass. It has long been used in Ayurveda as a non-traditional Indian medicine, and its positive impact on the body has been repeatedly confirmed in research.

What is it?

The substance is formed in rock fractures under the influence of rocks, microorganisms, plants, animals, and soil. In its original form, it is a piece of solid resinous mass with a heterogeneous surface of black or dark brown color and a specific smell. In this form, the use of the product inside the body is unacceptable.

Products sold in pharmacies in the form of tablets or plastic mass undergo preliminary treatment. They are cleaned to remove ballast substances (sand and rock particles), as well as organic compounds.

Mineral resin is mined in different regions of the planet. There exists Pamir shilajit, Altai shilajit, but their properties and characteristics remain identical.

Composition

The composition contains substances with healing properties.

  • Vitamins

They strengthen the immune system and protect from such external factors as sudden weather changes and poor ecology. They help to fight seasonal, viral, and infectious diseases; they have a beneficial effect on appearance — skin looks healthy, and hair shines.

  • Amino acids

Valine, methionine, tryptophan, etc. They induce increased collagen production, increase the body’s endurance, and prevent the occurrence of insomnia and nervous disorders.

  • Macroelements

They are responsible for cell regeneration and stimulate metabolic processes in the body.

  • Enzymes and flavonoids

They accelerate natural processes in organs and tissues. A deficiency of these substances in the body leads to organ malfunction and, as a consequence, to diseases.

  • Organic acids and tannins

They fight intestinal infections and can act as an antidote. External use of tannins is effective for cuts and other skin damage as well as for infectious diseases of the mucous membranes.

It is a mistake to just drink pills and hope for rapid weight loss. Mineral resin should be taken as an auxiliary substance provided that you exercise and eat right.

The substance has the following effect on the losing weight body:

  • it normalizes metabolism;
  • it launches an active fat burning process;
  • it regulates the work of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • it controls the blood sugar level, which allows you not to experience a strong feeling of hunger;
  • it prevents exhaustion during the diet.

For the product to begin working as soon as possible, before starting to take it, cleanse your body with a three-day diet. Avoid:

  • fatty foods;
  • fried foods;
  • canned vegetables and fruits;
  • alcohol;
  • coffee;
  • strong tea;
  • bottled and packaged drinks.

Try to reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke, or better yet, quit smoking altogether. For three days, you should consume no more than 1200 kilocalories per day in your food. Eat foods rich in protein: dairy products, lean fish, and lean meat. There should be even more carbohydrates in the diet, such as fresh fruits and vegetables.

On the fourth day, start taking mineral resin twice a day on an empty stomach:

  • in the morning, half an hour after waking up;
  • in the evening, an hour before dinner.

Shilajit tablets are washed down with mineral or boiled water, with faint green tea without sugar or additives being acceptable. Usually, tablets contain 0.2 g of the substance. A single dose is 0.2-0.5, depending on your weight:

  • up to 70 kg — 1 tablet;
  • more than 90 — 2.5 tablets.

Shilajit can be used for weight loss for 20 days. If you are not completely satisfied with the result, repeat the course in 10 days.

You can take it in its pure form or as part of a healthy cocktail. The recipe is simple — mix distilled water (300 ml), shilajit (1 tablet), natural honey (1 tablespoon), lemon juice (2 tablespoons), and ginger root powder (1.5 teaspoons). Let the mixture brew for half an hour. Strain before use. Drink the cocktail according to the same scheme as the pure product — twice a day before meals.

External use

Taking shilajit internally is not the only way to use it. If used correctly externally, it is possible to achieve an external skin transformation: cellulite disappears, and stretch marks become less visible.

  • Baths

Dissolve 10 g of the substance in a liter of warm water. If you use natural 100% product, you will get a cloudy solution, but without sediment. Pour the solution into a bath with warm water. You do not need to fill it to the top — when immersing yourself, the solar plexus area should remain above the water.

Baths

Take a bath for 20 minutes daily for 15 days. If you feel unwell, it is better to refuse the procedure.

It is useful to combine it with a water massage. Such baths help to fight age-related skin changes, cellulite, stretch marks, and pigmentation.

  • Wraps

A wrap with shilajit is effective against cellulite; the procedure stimulates blood circulation in skin cells and increases the elasticity of the epidermis.

Dissolve the product in warm water (3 g per 1 teaspoon), add 3 tablespoons of honey and 3 tablespoons of cosmetic oil (olive, almond, jojoba). Stir the components and let the mixture brew for about half an hour. At this time, it is advisable to take a shower using a scrub or a stiff brush. Apply the mixture to problem areas and wrap with plastic wrap. After 20 minutes, wash off with warm water without detergents and apply a nourishing cream.

To achieve a noticeable result without risk to your health, you will need about 10 procedures at intervals of 2 days.

  • Cream

It helps well with stretch marks. Take 6 g of shilajit and mix with 80 g of baby cream. If you do not use tablets, but a paste, dissolve the product in a spoonful of warm water, and then mix it with the cream. It is enough to pre-grind the tablets into a powder. For half an hour, massage problem areas of the body using the prepared cream. The recommended duration of the course of procedures is one month.

Before using shilajit, consult your doctor — there may be contraindications. For example, patients with diabetes mellitus, taking it internally, should reduce the insulin dose. Contraindications also include low blood clotting, tumors, unstable blood pressure, pregnancy, childhood, and old age.
