Shilajit (mountain resin) is a natural substance extracted from mountain rocks, it is a dark plastic mass. It has been used for a long time in Ayurveda—traditional Indian medicine—its positive effect on the body has been confirmed repeatedly in tests.
Let’s figure out whether this tool contributes to weight loss and if so, how?
What is this?
The substance is formed in faults of rocks under the influence of mountain rocks, microorganisms, plants, animals, and soil. In its original form, these are pieces of a solid tar-like mass with an uneven dark brown or black surface and a specific smell. In this form, internal intake of the product is unacceptable.
Products sold in pharmacies in the form of tablets or plastic mass undergo preliminary treatment. They undergo purification to separate out insoluble substances (sand, rock particles), as well as organic compounds.
Mountain resin is extracted in various regions of the planet. For example, these are Pamir shilajit, Altai shilajit, but their properties and characteristics are identical.
Composition
It contains therapeutic substances.
- Vitamins
They strengthen the immune system, protect against external factors such as abrupt weather changes, poor environmental conditions. They help fight seasonal viral, infectious diseases, and have a beneficial effect on appearance: the skin becomes healthy-looking, and the hair shiny.
- Amino acids
Valine, methionine, tryptophan, and others. They contribute to increased production of collagen, increase the body’s endurance, and prevent insomnia and nervous disorders.
- Macroelements
They are responsible for cell regeneration, stimulate metabolic processes in the body.
- Enzymes and flavonoids
They accelerate natural processes in organs and tissues. A deficiency of these substances in the body leads to impaired organ function, and, as a result, to diseases.
- Organic acids and tannins
They inhibit intestinal infections and can act as an antidote. External use of tanning agents is effective for abrasions, other skin lesions, and infections of mucous membranes.
Losing weight with shilajit is an easy way to additionally improve your health and strengthen your immunity.
Instructions
Simply taking tablets and waiting for rapid weight loss is a mistake. Mountain resin should be taken as an aid, provided you are physically active and adhere to a healthy diet.
The substance has the following effect on the body of a person who is losing weight:
- Normalizes metabolism;
- Launches the process of active fat burning;
- Stimulates the work of the gastrointestinal tract;
- Regulates blood sugar levels, which allows you not to experience an acute feeling of hunger;
- Prevents depletion of the body during the diet.
In order for the product to begin working as quickly as possible, cleanse the body using three-day diets before you start taking it. Exclude:
- Fatty foods;
- Fried foods;
- Canned fruits and vegetables;
- Alcohol;
- Coffee;
- Strong tea;
- Bottled or packaged drinks.
Try to reduce the number of cigarettes smoked or, better yet, quit smoking altogether. Within three days, you should consume no more than 1200 kcal per day with food. Eat food with a high protein content: fermented milk products, lean fish, lean meat. There should be more carbohydrates in your diet—these are fresh fruits and vegetables.
Start taking mountain resin on the fourth day twice a day on an empty stomach:
- In the morning, half an hour after waking up;
- In the evening, an hour before dinner.
Shilajit in tablets is washed down with mineral or boiled water; unsweetened green tea with no additives is permitted. The tablets usually contain 0.2 g of the substance. The single dosage is 0.2–0.5 g, depending on your weight:
- Up to 70 kg—1 tablet;
- Over 90—2.5 tablets.
You can take shilajit for weight loss for 20 days. If the result does not fully satisfy you, repeat the course in 10 days.
You can take it in its pure form or as part of a healthy cocktail. The recipe is simple—mix purified water (300 ml), shilajit (1 tablet), natural honey (1 tablespoon), lemon juice (2 tablespoons), and powdered ginger root (1.5 teaspoons). Allow the mixture to steep for half an hour. Strain before use. The cocktail should be taken the same as the pure product—twice a day before meals.
External use
Internal intake is not the only way to use shilajit. With proper external use, you can achieve an external transformation of the skin: cellulite will disappear, and the appearance of stretch marks will be reduced.
- Baths
Dissolve 10 g of the substance in a liter of heated water. If you are using a natural 100% product, you will get a cloudy solution but without any sediment. Pour the solution into a bath of warm water. It is not necessary to fill it to the very top—when immersed, the solar plexus area should remain above the water.
Take a bath for 20 minutes every day for 15 days. If you feel sick, it is better to stop the procedure.
It is useful to combine it with hydromassage. Such baths help fight age-related skin changes, cellulite, stretch marks, and pigmentation.
- Wraps
Shilajit wraps are effective for cellulite; the procedure stimulates blood circulation in the skin cells and increases the elasticity of the epidermis.
Dissolve the product in warm water (3 g per 1 teaspoon), add 3 tablespoons of honey and 3 tablespoons of cosmetic oil (olive, almond, jojoba). Mix the ingredients and let the mixture steep for about half an hour. During this time, it is advisable to take a shower using a scrub or a stiff brush. Apply the mixture to the problem areas and wrap with cling film. After 20 minutes, wash off using warm water without detergents and apply a nourishing cream.
To achieve a noticeable result without harming your health, you will need about 10 procedures, with intervals of 2 days.
- Cream
It is effective for stretch marks. Take 6 g of shilajit and mix it with 80 g of baby cream. If you are not using tablets but paste, dissolve the product in a tablespoon of warm water and then combine it with the cream. It is enough to first grind the tablets into a powder.
Within half an hour, massage the cream obtained into the problem areas of the body. The recommended duration of the procedure is one month.
Consult a doctor before using shilajit, since there may be contraindications. For example, people with diabetes should reduce the dosage of insulin when using the product internally. Contraindications also include poor blood clotting, tumors, unstable blood pressure, pregnancy, and childhood and old age.
