Losing excess pounds and inches is a multifaceted process that requires an integrated approach. Use of products that activate metabolic processes can be effective.
Diet Enhancement
Pumpkin is famous not only for turning into a carriage in a popular fairy tale. The fruit has become famous for its many useful properties: fiber, vitamins, impressive mineral composition. Not casually, nutritionists often regret that majority of people do not include it in their diet at all.
Pumpkin seed oil is a sort of concentrate of everything that the fruit can “brag” about. The product is rich in vitamins B, A, E. It also contains fatty acids, phospholipids, flavonoids, carotene (it provides orange color to many pumpkin varieties).
What pumpkin oil properties are used in dietary nutrition for weight loss? Some people think that this product (for internal use) breaks down subcutaneous fat layer and then removes all unnecessary. This assumption is tempting, but wrong. Here is what actually happens:
- Improves pancreas function;
- Activates digestive processes;
- The body gets rid of waste products more successfully.
Scientific fact. In normal course of events subcutaneous fat is broken down only by active muscle activity, i.e. during physical exercises. Parallel activation of metabolic processes creates favorable conditions for weight loss.
Proper nutrition is another important condition. If the diet is abundant in refined fats and “fast” carbohydrates, pumpkin seed oil will, at best, reduce the formation of new subcutaneous lipid layers.
Rules of Using Pumpkin Seed Oil
How to take pumpkin seed oil for weight loss? Remember how new products are introduced into children’s diet? Often starting with very small portions. Here it is something similar.
It is recommended to start the use of the product with one teaspoon. Add this amount of oil to a salad, ready dressing, slightly cooled porridge or soup (if it is cold). Any dish where you usually use vegetable oil without heating.
Important! Do not heat pumpkin seed oil, as it loses almost all of its valuable properties from this. It is also important to follow storage conditions: in the dark, at a temperature not exceeding 25˚С.
It is advisable to test the introduction of a particular product to your diet in a calm environment. Allergic reactions or individual intolerance cannot be completely ruled out. This also applies to those who use the pumpkin itself and do not experience any digestive problems.
Another caveat is that there may be increased intestinal motility. If it is moderate, then such an effect is only welcome. However, diarrhea is possible; it is useful to take sorbents, drink plenty of fluids, and rest.
Has the body accepted the new product well? If desired, you can increase the “dosage”. But pumpkin oil should not completely replace all vegetable fats in the diet. The maximum daily dose is no more than three tablespoons. A larger amount can adversely affect the pancreas.
If the body tolerates it well, you can try another method and start taking pumpkin seed oil for weight loss in pure form. The scheme is simple: one tablespoon one hour before meals, up to three times a day. The body’s reaction will determine the further regimen. It is possible that a single dose will be enough for the desired effect.
Smell and taste deserve a special mention. Opinions about these characteristics vary greatly. Some praise the specific aromatic and flavor notes, while others, to put it mildly, they do not cause delight. Do you belong to the latter? You can slightly “interrupt” a potentially unpleasant taste by washing down the oil with a few sips of any natural juice. It is not recommended to use water for these purposes. Another option is to eat a small slice of bread (oat, buckwheat) or a crouton. It is important to remember that any bread has a stimulating effect on the intestines, and monitor how the body reacts to such combinations of products.
Is this oil not suitable for you either? Do not be discouraged, there are other, no less interesting ones: sea buckthorn, castor, black cumin, coconut.
Contraindications
First of all, these are diseases of the pancreas and gallbladder, especially with the formation of stones. Next, these are gastrointestinal diseases, for example, gastritis and stomach ulcer.
